Gendarme is a fragrance and body care product brand with a unique backstory. In 1983, Topper Schroder was a dissatisfied fragrance consumer who desperately wanted to explore scents that would not cause asthmatic reactions or irritate his sensitive skin. Aware of this gap in the perfume industry, Schroder began teaching himself the basics of fragrance design and developed his own original scents.
Schroder ultimately created a successful fragrance brand that sell internationally through the company website and at over 1000 international high-end retailers. SHIPPED WRONG PRODUCT
I received the "G" brand, not the original one I ordered, so I don't know difference. I sniffed it, smells the same, so what's different, an ingredient or two?? Might re-gift after I see what hassles there are to return. They are conveniently closed for the holidays until Thurs. Dec. 27. The original works well with my skin type and I've used it since the early nineties. Received compliments all these years. It is by far my fave. I like the fresh-bathed smell that is not too loud in a crowd. One thing though, for those looking for an overpowering, dominant, long-lasting type of cologne, this not the one. What I have always like about this cologne is that it fades back after a reasonable time, and can only be detected up close, in an intimate setting. A perfect prescription if you ask me. You won't be disappointed. (Of course, I haven't tried every cologne on the market, but this one suits me, my personality, etc., just fine.)
