Count Hubert de Givenchy was famous for designing exclusive fashions for royalty and especially for illustrious American actress Audrey Hepburn. The first perfume he launched through his design house was inspired by the Breakfast at Tiffany’s star. Givenchy had founded the fashion and perfume company in 1952, and L’Interdit was released five years later. Ms. Hepburn was the first movie star to promote a perfume, but the company has continued with this trend into the 21st century, with advertising campaigns partnered with Liv Tyler and Justin Timberlake.
