Sira Des Indes Perfume by Jean Patou, Inspired by woody scents found in the Orient, Sira Des Indes is a sweet, fruity perfume designed for women. Launched in the year 2006, this fragrance was formulated by Jean-Michel Duriez. It opens with the sweet scent of banana and pear with a tangy twist of bergamot, ending on a spicy note of cardamom and pink pepper. More fruity notes can be found in the middle with the scent of plum mixed with champaca and orange blossom, a hint of milk essence giving the heart a creamy touch. Classic notes make up the base, the sweet scent of vanilla prominent against warm amber, sandalwood, and musk accords. This fragrance comes in a petite bottle and is available in multiple sizes.

Jean Patou was a designer born in Normandy, France. He began working in his uncle's fur business in 1907, opening his own fashion and dressmaking boutique in Paris 7 years later. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.

Hey there, everyone. Nicole here. And today I'll be reviewing Sira Des Indes by Jean Patou. This 2006 release was composed by Jean-Michel Duriez and is best defined by a sweet fruity spicy accords. Banana, cardamom, pink pepper, and bergamot, open the scent followed by heart notes of plum, milk, orange blossom, and champaca flowers. Before ending off in base notes of sandalwood, musk, amber, and vanilla. I recommend this scent for any season but particularly for fall, especially if you're looking for something a little off the beaten path. Well, that's all for today. I hope you enjoyed this review. Great oriental crispy scent

I prefer floral scents. However, I am amazed by Sira des Indes. It is oriental, but not heavy, somehow subtle but still present, incredibly longlasting on me, crispy , it is supposed to smell like banana, I do not really smell this, but it has a crispy scent of a fruity something (probably that is

Sirs des Indes is Spicy, Subtle, Mature

After purchasing Sira nearly a year ago, I am just getting around to testing it because it is getting close to Fall/Winter. Solely, it is classified as a Soft Oriental with notes of banana, pear, plum, amber, patchouli and musk. It is a warm but subtle scent. I can distinctly smell these notes
...
at each interval: In the opening I smell the banana then the pear following shortly. Middle notes of plum and ylang-ylang seques into the heart of the fragrance to bring balance to the base notes of musk, amber, and patchouli. As I now smell my wrists and creases of my elbows, the dry down is a subtle and warm musky-patchouli accord. This is a scent made for the mature person who appreciates the echo of fragrance notes recessed in the background. I understand my nose may be discriminate. But, our body chemistry reacts differently to many types of fragrances. This was a good experience, one in which I prefer not to repeat.

Unique ambery, floral with fun banana note

Quoted from Fragrantica.com: "Sira des Indes by Jean Patou is a Amber Woody fragrance for women. Sira des Indes was launched in 2006. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean-Michel Duriez. Top notes are Banana, Cardamom, Pear, Pink Pepper and Bergamot; middle notes are Champaca, Milk, Plum and Orange Blossom; base notes are Sandalwood, Vanilla, Amber and Musk." It really is a fun take on an ambery, woody fragrance. It leans vintage but is spicy, fruity, floral and creamy. I really enjoy wearing this.

I crave this

So. It's really hard for me to describe this one because that banana leaf note in the beginning is so green that I couldn't appreciate it until I got used to it! I think the Champaka I believe gives it a very waxy thick tropical flower scent making the perfume feel thick, rich and tropical yet it is not super sweet and there is some spice in it. I would say I crave this in the late evening when I want something kind of sensual and enveloping it is very addictive and it's an unusual and highly sensual scent think you need to appreciate tropical flowers even though this one isn't sweet to me there is something creamy about this perfume and while it doesn't last more than 2 to 3 hours on me it's a wonderful ride that I appreciate and wear because it's fun for my nose! Hope that helps…?

Starts off fruity ends up soft, spicy and creamy

This starts off tropical and fruity but does a 180 and ends ups a soft spicy and creamy cup of chai tea. This is nice perfume that even my baby sister (who isn't a vintage fan) likes. It's starts off w/ sweet banana, tart black currant and crisp pear, it almost has a fruit punch vibe and at 1st I didn't think I was going to like it but then the cardamom comes in w/ it's subtle spiciness and tames down the sweet fruit vibe. This also becomes very creamy probably due to the milk note in this fragrance. The dry down is a soft spicy cup of chai tea. I didn't think I would like this one so much but I reached for it a lot this summer. It is fresh and fun w/ a bit of a flirty vibe. Unlike Patou classics but still polished like most of their perfumes are.

Yes, I would recommend to a friend.

Not for me

This fragrance has been discontinued and I can understand why. The unpleasant pungent top note never dissipates. I am wondering if I got a bad batch. Zero stars for Sira des Andes but five stars for Fragrance X.

Bottom Line

No, I would not recommend to a friend.

Got it before they are all gone!

Was glad to get this from Jean Patou before they are all gone since the line is going away. This has nice cool cardamom and a sweet milky fruity accord. The notes list banana but it doesn't come across very strong to me, more so just a sweet fruity note. I like it, everyday wear, it's something different.

Bottom Line

Yes, I would recommend to a friend.

Sira Des Indes by Jean Patou

This perfume is not the same as it was when I wore it years ago. The opening is far too spicy, and it doesn't smell good. There is also no longevity, but since it doesn't smell good that's a good thing. I don't know if the formula was changed or I got an "off" bottle. Will not purchase again.

Bottom Line

No, I would not recommend to a friend.

I really love this!

Sira des Indes grew on me. At first, I found it too musky, but one evening I was wearing it at an outdoor event and kept getting whiffs of this gorgeous scent. It was me! This works wonders in the heat of summer; the banana keeps it a little sweet, the champaca is slightly tropical and the musk is classically French.

Yes, I would recommend to a friend.
