Russian Leather Perfume by Memo, The character of Russian Leather, a fragrance for women and men, may surprise you. In spite of the name, it is a fougere fragrance with most of the notes deriving from green plants. Leather is, nevertheless, one of the strongest and most recognizable notes present in the profile. Cedar needles, guaiac wood, cypress, and pine create a woodsy accord. Camphorous mint cools the spicy notes of coriander, nutmeg, and tonka bean. Herbal notes of basil, rosemary, clary sage, and lavender combine with a green note of fern and an unexpectedly musky note of patchouli.



This fragrance was released by Memo in 2016. The relatively new fragrance house had its genesis in a professional and personal partnership that began between John and Clara Molloy on a ski lift, with the company being founded in Paris in 2007. Originally from Andalusia, Clara Molloy's world-travel mementos serve as inspiration for the company's fragrances.

Perfect

Bought this for my partner after we fell in love with it at my local perfume shop. It's his signature scent, he loves it for any occasion (and I love it on him). It's woody and herbal without being too earthy. It's fresh and inviting, like opening your door and inhaling the icy air as you contemplate playing in the pure, freshly-fallen snow outside your door. Out of all the notes, the rosemary is most prominent on him, and the leather accord is perfectly soft and balanced with the other notes (I think that's what makes it seem so inviting). Super well blended scent. He usually only does one spray because it's so strong and lasts for hours (GREAT value, love that the fragrance will last him a long time before repurchasing). From others' reactions, Russian Leather seems like a real crowd pleaser, too. It's unique without being off-putting for sensitive noses. FragranceX did a great job with packaging and shipping (which was faster than expected). Definitely going to order from here again!
