The company name Nejma has two different inspirational points. The name means the good star, and the name is also taken from a beautiful Arabian heroine who falls victim to pirates but ultimately marries a vizier then has seven beautiful daughters. Marie Lise Bischoff, the founder of the company, was inspired to create her business from her childhood spent near the perfume capital of the world, Grasse, France and her journeys to the Far East.
