Quercus Cologne by Penhaligon's, Quercus is a fragrance for both women and men that was launched in 1996. It’s a refreshing citrus fragrance that is perfect for the warm days of summer spent at the beach or spending time with close friends.
The fragrance starts with the top notes of citrusy bergamot, juicy mandarin orange, fresh lime, and tart Amalfi lemon. It then moves into the middle notes of spicy cardamom, lily-of-the-valley, and jasmine. The fragrance is then rounded out by the warm base
notes of golden amber, earthy musk, galbanum, soothing sandalwood, and oak moss.
The fragrance has a weak longevity which makes it the perfect scent for an afternoon event, and it has a soft sillage so the scent stays with you instead of filling the room. It was created by Penhaligon’s, which is a British perfume house that was founded in 1870. While the company originally started as a barbershop, they released their first fragrance in 1872. fragrance is a Chypre,
with heavy citrus elements
developed for the brand
by Christian Provenzano.
It's a well-blended scent
with top notes of lemon, lime,
mandarin, and bergamot;
middle notes of jasmine,
lily of the valley,
and cardamom;
and base notes of oatmoss,
sandalwood, galbanum, amber,
and musk.
I recommend it mostly
for summertime day wear.
