The scent is rather acrid and unenjoyable for me. It doesn't seem to develop beyond that acrid scent. Really that to be better.

i like this, it's very linear but strangely compelling, sweet, the Peru medicinal note is distinctive and it has an edible quality nevertheless, hence my saying it's gourmand... has musky/animalic drydown, quite suitable for women too, seems well blended and smooth

Its all about the dry-down
I like my fragrances bold because I live bold and this fragrance delivers on bold. Don't listen to the novices that described this scent poorly. Its not their fault that they have a bad olfactory sense and don't understand how a fragrance can change as it dries down, not to mention how a fragrance can alter how people react to you. The dry-down on this is fantastic. Yes - it starts off very much like black licorice. Morphs into a rich cinnamon a then when the bottom notes take effect its a warm, sensual, masculine, daring yet subdued masterpiece of oriental fragrances. I can understand why some say its for fall/winter, but don't let that stop you from wearing it all year round. Be bold. When your body warms up this fragrance works even more. Great performance.

Really not my type.
I try everything, in my fragrance arsenal I've got stuff from light florals down to strong ouds. I have a mix of expensive and cheap ones, bright ones and dark ones. There's a lot to be said about Cigar Black Oud, so I'll keep it direct. This fragrance is really not for a young guy, even a guy below 40 years old. It's insanely strong for the price range, and definitely has decent Oud character to it. My issue with this fragrance is that it opens smelling similar to urine, I mean exactly like animal urine, just with a sweet vanilla undertone. Give it a couple more hours and it still projects like a monster, but it's more pleasant and brings out some nice woodsy / spicy accords. Sweet all the way through, lasting above 8 hours on me. I find it a bit brutal since It's not my type, and could only see this working fine if applied sparingly. I think the demographic for this one is 50+ year old fisherman, or a single dad smoking a cigar.

Wanted to love this one but couldn't.
This has notes I love: vanilla and benzoin. I should love this but I do not. It smells like vanilla plastic. Like the plastic many dolls (cabbage patch kids) smell like with that strange vanilla scent somehow mixed into the plastic. A lot of people love this but it's not for me. If you're looking to buy this blind just be aware that, yes, it's a vanilla fragrance but it is indeed that strange plastic vanilla type fragrance. It's not terrible so I can't in good conscious give it 1 star even though I personally dislike it. It's a real love it or hate it type fragrance.

Good, but not my thing
I'm an 18 year old guy, the frags that fit me best are Halloween Man, and 1 Million. I figured my type of scent is spicy and tobacco-y frags. But I didn't do the research into what "Oud" is and how it smells. So with this stuff, i do get complimented on it, but I personally don't like the smell. It reminds of the scent of Noxzema mixed with body odour. But, if it gets me complimented, that's 3 stars in my book.

Remy Latour is a genius
imagine yourself in a boat on a river...on the first part of the journey she smells luscious tangerine zest,a hint of imported lemon with a touch of exotic spice.at the halfway turn around the smell of comforting amber and warm balsam brings her in closer.pefectly timed as the boat docks the winds change and she becomes intoxicated with the rich deep dark vanilla, aged tobacco and oud. what a great cologne. ty , Remy you are a genius .

This is really good. The first 30 min not so much. But the dry down is powerful and smell expensive. Not as wearable as black wood. But great for once in a while smell.

BLK OUD VS TOM FORD TOBACCO VANILLE
1.blk oud would be the colonge version of Tom ford tobacco vanille where as Tf orig would Be the perfume version full strength ,but additional Sprays of blk oud will give Same results as orig tf tobacco vanille , love and own them both

VERY DISAPOINTED
I love (oud) many types of (oud). I have smell this one about 2 months ago and man what a suprise, for he price this juice was amazing and the price WOW you just cant go wrong with this one. So i descided to order one it. To my surprise new packaging not that much different than the original. The package was all busted up (it commes in a metal type of can) the sprayer was broken but the but my biggest disapointement was that it does not smell at all as the original one. WHERE IS THE OUD??? I dont know what it smells like but not at all like the original one. Did not like the smell at all i was so disapointed. I give the rating of 1/10 Dont know why it dosent smell like the original. I will go back to the store where i had smell the original and get that one... Very disapointed.

Potent - strong and long lasting gem!
This is a powerful fragrance, and great quality. I bought it out of curiosity (I liked the look of the bottle), and I came up trumps. Very pleased with this one... I rotate my perfumes quite a bit, but use this regularly enough. Great for daily wear - Oh! and I have learnt not to overspray, because this is very potent perfume (you will end up overpowering the room if you overdo it - I found out:)
