Sergio Tacchini was an Italian tennis player, born in 1938. As a young man, he had a successful career as a professional tennis player until his retirement in 1966. Shortly before that, he founded a tennis apparel company that was originally called Sandys, but was later changed to Sergio Tacchini. The company was the leader in using color in tennis apparel, which had traditionally been pure white. The brand has since expanded to apparel and accessories for many sports.
