She is a Unicef ambassador and the founder of the Pies Descalzos Foundation, which she started in 1995 to meet the educational needs of underserved children. Her breakout album was 1998's Dónde Están Los Ladrones, which sold over 10 million copies around the globe. Her English language debut, Laundry Service, followed in 2001 and sold more than 20 million copies. She launched her first fragrance in 2010 in collaboration with Puig.
