Ted Lapidus is the maker of this fragrance. He is a Parisian designer that launched his own brand in 1951 after completing an apprenticeship with Christian Dior. While he originally focused his label on fashion, he expanded into accessories and fragrances in the 1970s. He launched his first fragrance under his name in 1970 in collaboration with L’Oreal. His son took over the company in 1989, and the label ended its clothing division in 2000, choosing to focus solely on accessories and fragrances. All products are original, authentic name brands. This is a classic. However my last order doesn't smell the same nor last longer which is a disappointment and I hope that you are not starting to mix your products with knock offs. I already wait too long at least 3 weeks to receive my orders and I don't have the patience to be sending items back.

One of my old time favourites
I adore Rumba having bought it regularly when visiting France. I was introduced to it by a friend and it very quickly became my signature perfume for work. I was a community nursing sister and and my patients would also comment on the wonderful aroma coming into their homes. Perfumes can be sickly if you are unwell but this was always welcomed because of its oriental waft. I was so pleased to see I could still get this without leaving the comfort of my armchair, without import taxes and at a fantastic price.

Most awful smell ever... like a cheap perfume... for someone born in 1901 It is going in the bin as I would not even give it away and it will cost me as much as I paid for it to return. A very expensive mistake. We live and learn

Not What I Was Expecting
I read some awesome reviews about Rumba. I did see it is an older scent and most comments looked as if they were from a slight older generation than mine ( I am 36 ). I took a chance and ordered it. I opened it immediately once it arrived! I was so excited to get it! It smelled like an old lady for sure! I was hoping it was just me... so I sprayed it once I got home. My 9 year old son rounded the corner and went running in the opposite direction! He said "it stinks so bad, please don't every spray that stuff again!" So... back in the box it went and it's being shipped back today for a refund.

Someone bought me a bottle of Rumba many years ago and I love it to this day. You cant find it anywhere except on FragranceX and I am so thankful. Its Unique and Classy smell is always a conversation starter and as your body warms its Fragrance, it gets even better! This perfume is too strong for my taste. Its scent lingers in the air after you've left the room. Some scents might leave a favorable impression, but not this one - not for me, at any rate. However, one scent by Ted Lapidus I do like is "Creation". This scent is strong too, but is more "me".

Definitely an interesting big fume, but you have to be careful because it may be perceived as slightly vulgar and/or obnoxious. Takes some getting used to. Does not smell too expensive either, because of the ingredients, but not as cheap as most overpriced recent perfumes, if you will...

Disappointed
I was most disappointed as the perfume does not smell like the perfume I have used for years and years. My daughter bought perfume too, and that also smelled nothing like the perfume she has used for years and years. A total waste of money

My new bottle had no Tree Moss in the formula which has chagned the character of the fragrance. It is still pleasant, but lacks the warm woody undertones that gave it the wow factor. I am disappointed in the new formula.
