I really can't say anything negative about this fragrance. It is one of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's favorite fragrances, and it is rumored that she wore it at her wedding day. As I am a male, i don't often wear it, but i spray it on my pillow and it inspires the most lovely dreams When i do wear it, or give it to a lady friend----woosh! Its compliment city, y'all. This fragrance is for the woman (or even young lady) who has a classical, romantic heart, and who shuns anything by Jennifer Lopez lol. ive it a try!

It's... OK if you like old fashioned...
This fragrance is a little over powering on my wrists for me. If I keep I'd use at back of my knees instead to water down the potency. It packs a punch for the 1 oz I purchased. It's not off when I say it smells old I don't think. It has that dark, sultry, heavy smell that's prob suitable for an older woman and should be described as vintage. Compared to the young effervescent modern fragrances of today. But it's still OK

A piece of history
This is an iconic fragrance. Many things have been written about it over it's long history. I decided it was my turn to experience L'Heure Bleue. In the beginning the anise notes and dry, dusty spices were almost to much for me and I wanted to turn away, to run away but something told me to wait, because something wonderful was about to happen. Then the heliotrope and iris came and blended w/ that overly dry spice and created the most beautiful make up powder. A powder that speaks of an era that is long past. This is a perfume piece of history, my grandmothers didn't even wear fragrances like this. I love this fragrance. I don't know if it is very wearable in today's day in age but I will wear this when I am alone and in a contemplative mood. L'Heure Bleue is Mitsouko's unapproachable older sister, she is sad, she is a dreamer of dreams that will never come true they stay locked in her heart forever.

Of course, being a Guerlain 'girl', and usually wear L'Champs Elysses, I decided to try this scent after reading a review elsewhere on the web. I was fascinated by the history, also the concept of the perfume capturing that gradual day into evening aura in Paris. Having been to Paris and knowing exactly what this experience felt like, I was wanting to see for myself. Not disappointed at all! It smells softly floral/woodsy(?)..I can't explain it..but has a sophisticated overtone that smells (of all things) relaxing and soothing. Sort of like a drink at an out-door patio restaurant in the late afternoon

L'Heure Bleue is still a beauty even though it's lost some of its charm since the great Jacques Guerlain created it. In brief, it's a combination of carnation, heliotrope with its pastry undertones, vanilla and a pinch of spices (anis and coriandre). Vintage bottles cost an arm and a leg, so I'm thankful that Guerlain still makes this magnificent perfume.

Timeless elegance
I am a devoted Guerlain wearer and this is my first bottle of l'Heure Bleue, after wearing My Insolence (if they could bring it back!!!), Shalimar, Samsara, and for many years, l'Instant. If you love powdery fragrances, this is it. It's delicate, very powdery, nice notes of iris, very feminine, holds all day. It reminds somehow of Shalimar and l'Instant, all three are great perfumes. If you like Shalimar and l'Instant, this one will not disapoint.
