In 2011, Michael Boadi established the Illuminum fragrance brand that would soon capture the senses of celebrities like Lady Gaga and Kate Middleton. Before developing the brand, Boadi was born in Paddington, London. He then emigrated to New York as a young hair stylist despite having zero traditional qualifications. His natural talent and innovation earned him a job as a stylist for a Vogue magazine shoot in 1994.
Since then, Boadi has continued styling for brands like Gucci and Chanel, and his work has been seen on Janet Jackson, Madonna, Kate Moss, David Beckham and more. Although the Illuminum brand is young, it contains dozens of classy, chic fragrances that are loved all over the world.

Not Your Normal Run-of-the-Mill White Musk
This fragrance caught me totally offguard. I love white musk and have worn the inexpensive kind and have received compliments because it's so fresh smelling, but Illuminum is in a league all by itself. If you like the sweet, younger set fragrances from Victoria Secret, then this fragrance is NOT for you. It is a sensual, seductive scent that can be worn both day or night. It is worth its weight in gold. It lasts for a long time as the sample I received was perfume. It stayed on all day and well into the evening, however, it is NOT overpowering. It has such a unique twist to it that it's hard to put my finger on exactly what it has that makes it so different. It's a very, very classy scent - definitely not for the younger crowd.

Musky Rose
This is a pleasant,if one dimensional scent. It's pretty much a musky rose fragrance and while I pick up just the slightest smoky accord, it's a bit too dominated by the rose note to develop into anything else.
