Great smell
Bought this for my husband and since he is into OUD he loves this one, the bottle itself is good looking too on the stand. The smell is strong at first but then as it pass it leaves this scent like spicy smell like no other and it lasts throughout the day which is a big plus for him as men don't like to reapply cologne again.

Wow! "OUD" means 'wood', but it's way more than that!
"OUD" [ ʽūd ]is an Arabic word, which literally means 'wood', but it's way more than that! It gives you a sense of being different and adventurous... Just an amazing bland of oriental aromas! And the price is such a great value for such a huge bottle!

The package looks nice and so does the bottle, but it's not long lasting and the smell is nothing exciting. It's rather weak. It reminds me of vintage a bit, it's definitely not my favorite John Varvatos.

Great Scent, Poor Sillage!
Well, the fragrance, itself, is very oriental, incensy, and dark. And it seems strange that something on the shadows side of the spectrum cannot hold longer than 2 - 4 hours. Even worse, the sillage and projection are abominable! This is the oudiest skin scent (or the skinniest oud scent) I have ever put my nose on. I would recommend it, but only for home use. You're not going to get any girls with this one, unless you're all up in their business, and then you STILL won't get any girls.

An average Varvatos, no better.
The bottle says it all: Shiny, but plastic. It's an ok fragrance from Varvatos - and I am otherwise an admirer of the line. The others in the Varvatos family seem to say more, have greater depth, better life/sillage. This one is ok, and not the Oud I was looking for. In the lower ranks of the Varvatos, but they are all quite nice. To say this was a bad fragrance would be incorrect - I do like it. Consider the Versace Oud option as a similarly priced alternative.

Great scent but wouldn't last one hour It's a shame
To call this fragrance eau de parfum is a straight out lie. As soon as you apply it to your skin it literally flys away. It should be called eau de aqua watered down. Extremely disappointed . Unless you carry your bottle with you all day long it's pretty much useless Will never buy this again

I bought this for my boyfriend as he loves oud. He LOVES it. He has bought very expensive oud before but says the quality, smell and longevity of this one is just as great if not better. (Oud is a very acquired smell- I'm getting used to it!)

OUD IS A PARTIAL MISS
i Love John Varvatos scents and I like Oud well enough, but I also like to spray a small amount on my t-shirts (seams to make the scent last longer during the day) and it stains my shirt and that doesn't make me happy.

amazing
This is my fourth designer oud fragrance. I own this, jovan intense oud, dunhill icon absolute and polo supreme oud. Very medicinal, rubbery opening. Not much warmth or sweetness, woods, a very "dry" oud scent. Calms down and dissipates pretty quickly, goes close to the skin and you get some traces of sweetness. Its life cycle from spray to faint is an hour, maybe 2. The scent is not bad but not enough oomph. Especilaly not for 150 full retail. even less due to a gift card i had gotten. At 50 it is borderline worth a buy for someone wanting an introductory oud fragrance. I love the varvatos one but I am not sure id buy this again. I personally feel dark rebel and rebel rider are much more compelling and much darker than this. The only oud i own worth their retail price tag is the jovan intense oud and polo supreme oud. Jovan gives you that medicinal rubbery vibe (a lot like varvatos but zero sweetness). Polo supreme oud is heads and shoulders above the ones i own. Icon absolute is very good though in its own right but varvatos? Falls flat and i probably would not purchase again.
