The top notes are cinnamon-like cassia and Rose de Mai, opening the fragrance with a slightly lemony and slightly spicy twist. The middle notes are heavily floral, with violet and rose. Kenzo Parfums is the fragrance division of fashion line Kenzo, founded in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada. The aspiring fashion designer left his fishing village in 1964 to attend design school in Tokyo, and eventually moved to Paris, opening his own boutique. Takada is often credited with exposing the rest of the world to Japanese fashion sensibilities. Kenzo’s first perfume was released in 1988, and has since released numerous iconic fragrances.
