Sapphire was originally released by La Prairie alongside Emerald and Ruby fragrances in 2010 and was subsequently available in 2011 as a part of limited-edition gift sets from the designer as well. The scents served as a follow-up to 2009’s original launch of the Life Threads collection with Gold, Platinum, and Silver. Gemstones garnish the bottles from Life Threads’ second appearance and are reminiscent of the precious metals that trim the bottles from the first line. In the 1960s, the brand began designing fragrances to add to its growing skin care products and cosmetics. The company was founded in 1930 in Switzerland.
