Lalique for Homme Equus has a citrus zest opening with a slight berry smell. After drying down slowly, the violet, sequala wood smell shows up. In the end, it blends so well with Vetiver, Benzoin making a nice gentleman scent for office occasions.

Smells good but poor performance
Nice classy scent then can be used daily for every occasion. Drawback is the poor performance. Becomes a skin scent after 30 mins. Would still recommend given the price remains around $30.

Off putting, to put it nicely
I bought this blind, given the very inexpensive cost and my track record with Lalique being very good as well as Monika Cioch's raving review of this scent. I was extremely disappointed. Nothing special, it doesn't smell very good. It smells very dated, very mature, and outright gross. I enjoy older frags as well as modern frags and this doesn't quite seem to fit in anywhere. I can't imagine anyone wanting to smell like this. It's not gross because it's a "challenging wear" it's just very off putting.

GOOD ADDITION TO MY FRAGRANCES
You can use this for any occasion even though it's more formal and special scent. To me it smells very similar to Gucci to pour homme 2 that has been discontinued. It's just a little less intense and at last less. It smells a little bit more floral but very similar scent without the tea note

I ordered several lalique products after buying encre noir intense on a blind buy (one of the most unique fragrances ever) I have to say that they are hit and miss for me. I do not like all of their fragrances but I really love this one. I lean on the spicy, incense and woodier fragrances. Gucci Rush and Envy were my favs for years but Gucci lost their way and deleted both of those products (each now selling for 500 plus for old full bottles) and I have wandered for years... encre has become my night time signature but equus is my daily now.... in the studio at the gym out for the day with my wife... Its that good and that unique. Nothing else smells like this its not a clone of anything I'm aware of and it is an amazing value as it lasts for hours... literally the next day I can still detect it on my clothes or in the car. Compliments from all but mostly my love...
