Sideris Perfume by Maria Candida Gentile, Sideris was launched in 2009.
The word ‘sider’ is Latin for ‘star’ and the designer talks about how she was walking along a beach in Italy and felt like she was ‘floating in the sky, between the sea and the stars’ when she was inspired to create this fragrance. The perfume is feminine and warm and is perfect for evening wear. The top notes are spicy and enticing with cistus, incense, saffron, Indian white pepper and Corsican Myrrh. The heart notes are floral and consist of rose Ayrshire splendens and Turkish rose. The base notes add depth and include waxed woods, Java sandalwood and Siam benzoin.
Maria Candida Gentile was born in Italy and trained at the famous Grasse Institute of Perfumery in France. She is the only Italian woman to have the title of Maitre Parfumeur (Master Perfumer) bestowed upon her. The brand, which is named after her, creates perfumes and home fragrances from raw materials.
