Madame Gres Perfume by Parfums Gres, Created by noted perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur, Madame Gres is an oriental floral that blends spicy, floral, sweet, woody, balsamic and fresh accords. The 2013 fragrance opens with top notes of refreshingly sharp grapefruit combined with pineapple and cardamom. The heart mingles sweet, lemony magnolia with white peony and freesia before resting solidly on base notes of sandalwood, vanilla, patchouli and charismatic leather, which gives the perfume an undeniably sensual feel not unlike the signature draped gowns designed and worn by the label’s legendary founder.

Madame Gres’ name came to signify elegance, thanks to the haute couture she crafted for luminaries such as Greta Garbo and Vivian Leigh. Debuting her fashion house in 1934, her perfume brand launched in 1958 with its debut scent Cabochard. With more than 50 fragrances to its credit, the label’s creations include perfumes designed by Nathalie Lorson, Emilie Bouge, Sophie Labbe and Thierry Wasser. Hey, everyone, Rachel here. And today, I'll be reviewing Madam Gres by Gres. This is a lovely, traditional fragrance that reminds me of the kind of scents released in the first half of the 20th century, though this fragrance debuted in 2013. The top notes are pineapple, grapefruit, and cardamom. In the middle of the scent, it proceeds to florals, particularly freesia, peony, and magnolia. Beautifully feminine

Everytime I wear it, I get complements from friends and people I don't know. The scent lasts all day and night. I absolutely love it!

I Love This Scent But It's Not for Novices

This is a scent for an experienced woman who is sure of herself and her power. I'd be careful about suggesting this scent to a young women or to one who isn't self-confident.

BFF loves it...and so does her BF!!! :-D

I bought this as a gift for a girlfriend. She wrote to me later and told me how she loved it, and that her boyfriend loved it too, and she was watching him !!! I don't consider this scent for men by any means as I wear it and it is definitely a feminine floral scent.,,,though I must say it is sensual and it is sexy. Long lasting and a beautiful perfume to wear.

Love Pparfums Gres

I love Parfums Gres perfumes. All of them are quite different, and so far, all the ones I have bought hold very well. This particular perfume draws compliments as its a warm perfume to wear. A beautiful floral. I enjoy wearing this one. Its lovely. I say I want to wear it anytime I feel like wearing it. It is that good!

Great sweet perfume!

This is a killer powerhouse floral! Exquisite floral but unfortunately a bit too sweet for me. Nevertheless it is a great composition and if you are into oriental florals on the honey-sweet side this might be your cup of tea. Silage is a monster and worth every penny as on FragranceX is at great value.

Beautiful fragrance

The floral and vanilla notes are beautifully blended in this fragrance; the dry-down is a little spicy (which imo is wonderful), but never loses the floral/vanilla tones which, in my experience, sometimes happens with oriental/spicy perfumes. This one will always be a part of my fragrance wardrobe!!
