While Perry Ellis' first fashion brand would not come into existence until 1978, he first entered the business world as a buyer and merchandiser. He earned a master's degree from New York University in retailing. He co-founded a retail store while in Virginia, but when he moved back to New York, he saw an opportunity to create his own womenswear collection. After his official brand launched, Ellis branched out into other areas, including menswear, accessories and fragrances. The first perfumes from the company were launched in 1985. Ellis passed away in 1986, but his legacy lives on in each new creation, including America cologne. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.

America in its original version is an amazing, original scent and its presence can not be ignored! A summery, refreshing, soapy scent that always attracts attention. I will always make sure I have another bottle in the closet.

Confused but in a good way
It's one of those all-purpose scents that never seems to be misplaced in any occasion. It's "nice"...not a scent that you will remember but nice enough that you'll appreciate the longevity and the calming scent. I can't say it's a WOW but it's good enough which is not an insult.

I bought the old style bottle with the original formula
I am writing review for the old style bottle with the original formula I heard the blue bottle it's been reformulated, so I cannot speak for that one. Easy for any location I guess except special occasions or date night. It's dated but very strong long-lasting and likable like an OG. My favorite from the Perry Ellis line.

Excellent Cologne
Perry Ellis created a great cologne with America, if your looking for a great day wear & casual dinner or night out cologne that isn't overpowering but yet projects well, then this is it. The Pineapple. Bergamot, Anise, Oregano and floral and leather notes blend well. It's a fantastic clean day office/work cologne that projects but not overpower. Though you would need maybe 3-4 body sprays and an air mist spray for your clothes for it to last maybe 3-4 hours but you would need maybe one extra spray around noon to freshen up. Its definitely not a highend cologne but that doesn't mean its doesn't smell great, just doesn't last long or strong. So if your looking for a slightly sweet but herbal scent with a professional office scent, then you can't beat Perry Ellis America. I purchased the 5 oz bottle so adding an extra spray at work, this bottle should last you a longtime. Plus the price is definitely a huge plus. I suggest nuting a refillable atomizer to keep at your desk to freshen up. Easily can be worn all year round. And it's a great weekend cologne and casual dinner date or after work cocktails. Great scent, large 5 oz bottle and great price, you can't go wrong. Only people who might not like it are usually cologne snobs who believe good colognes should always cost $100.00 plus. Don't let the price fool you, it's a quality cologne as long as you understand it's a good clean office/work cologne meant to keep you smelling great at affordable price, I highly recommend it. Only wished they made am Eau de Parfum. Then I could see it being more longer lasting, but until then, still worth it.

I really like this fragrance, it last for awhile but I feel projection could be stronger. Would recommend because it's a great anytime fragrance and you know you will smell good. Maybe carry a decant around with you to reapply.

Give it a shot
First let's start by saying this is trying to be a creed aventus . Now it has pineapple like creed but this is super sweet pineapple and it reminds you kinda like creed but it changes to something different on the dry down. I collect colognes so will I keep it yes on a hot summer day just a nice cheap cologne to have in the collection.

Not your typical fresh fragrance
America is more interesting and fun. The base is very attractive -- resins, smoky woods and warm, sweet amber. The top is very fruity and peppery, with great projection and strength.

Im 33 years old so I need to stay up to date when it comes to everything I do. I remember putting this cologne on when I was 17, wow! it would draw so much attention, I loved it for that reason lol I put on this cologne on Friday night and Saturday morning I could still smell the cologne on my shirt!! Absolutely great smell
I didn't really know what to expect from this fragrance. I've heard good opinions and decided to try it. It definitely smells great. I was wondering how a pineapple would smell in a perfume and it smells great. It doesn't last for hours but it kinda sticks to your clothes and you can sense it for a long time. Totally recommend this great summer light scent. :)

Refreshing Fragrance.
America is a unique fragrance, that is very refreshing. I got mine in pretty good time. That is very impressive considering I live in a south asian country. America is a fresh, powdery fragrance and has a mildness to it, which makes it ideal for casual outing cologne. The bottle is aerodynamically unique and trendy. Overall, quite happy with my purchase.
