Fruity, Spicy, Earthy
This fragrance blooms well in Winter; especially around or at Christmas. You get notes of spice, fruit, and woods. The fruit is a jammy plum and peach; the spice is a warm, cozy cinnamon; and the woods are an earthy cedar and oakmoss. It is very similar in scent to Givenchy's Mitsouko. Femme Rochas is a bit milder; Mitsouko is stronger with an essence of pine. The two can be layered together flawlessly for a longer scent life. I do appreciate the numerous complex fragrance notes in both because they blend seamlessly with my chemistry. Now, about attire when you wear this fragrance: Dressy Casual, After Five, Christmas Party, Black Dress, Red Dress, Fur Coat; you get the picture.

Still my Favorite
I had been using Femme exclusively since the 1960's & took a break for many years. I've begun wearing it again & I'd forgotten how much I love it. I can't honestly compare it to the 'original' as many years have passed, but I'm enjoying the scent of what I've received from FragranceX - it seems authentic & similar to what was sold years ago. A clever fragrance salesperson sold me on this scent when I was a college student--I thought I was too young for it--(and I was)--but I fell in love with it anyway. Rochas is a venerable fragrance house and creates quality scents. This scent is not girlish--it is deeply FEMALE--it has power and presence--it is warm--sultry--lasting and complex. Don't buy this looking for flirty fruit salad gourmet body mist fun--that is NOT what this is. This is a serious scent for adult women. Just know what you are getting into with this one!!

It smells nothing like femme it smell s old and it is nothing like I use and I have used femme since Late 60s to the 80s. I was wanting to use it again but I don't think with the way this smells I won't be wearing it.

Femme has been my signature fragrance for over 50 years.
I have been using this product on a daily basis for over 50 years. It was first given to me by my husband when we were still dating and we will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary this year. Through the years I have received constant compliments from friends, family, co-workers and even strangers in public places. On occasion I have tried some other fragrances but none even come close to Femme. I just hope that it will continue to be available until I am no longer here.

Was given my first bottle of Femme before my wedding in 1967. For several years after I could only afford it for special occasions. Now I use it daily and love it just as much as when I first wore it. When I recently crept up and put my hands over my granddaughter's eyes and said 'guess who?' she said 'Nana, I know your smell!'

This is a perfume I have used since I was about 18, and now I'm over 60 ! I kept coming back to it as no other scent suited me as well, and for the last 20 years or so, I have used nothing else. I get compliments all the time not just from friends and family but from complete strangers too, who will say how lovely it is and ask what perfume I am wearing. It is suitable for all occasions, and is not at all 'heavy' or overpowering. Wearing it everyday lifts my spirits, and I don't feel completey dressed anymore without it.

lovely base notes
Given the Top Notes (apricot, plum, cinnamon, peach, bergamot, rosewood, lemon), Middle Notes (rosemary, carnation, iris, jasmine, clove, ylang-ylang, rose) & Base Notes (leather, amber, patchouli, musk, benzoin, vanilla, oakmoss), I thought this perfume was worth a try. However, the top notes are not very harmonious (it's more like a cacophony of aroma), and it's very fruity. After an hour or so, the middle notes shine through, then you are left with a lovely, sensual base note where the oakmoss is king.

Delightful as ever - and such good value
I have used this perfume for 40 years now - and love it as much now as when I first found it. It still draws compliments and people say that they recognise this as "my" smell. The FragranceX option to buy more cheaply demo box versions is great. I just keep the fancy lid and transfer it to the display bottle.
