Will never be without this fragrance
This is a highly underrated perfume. In my opinion it rivals high-end designer perfumes. Something akin to Givenchy "Very Irresistible" - similar, but by no means a duplicate. Just to serve as a comparison. I actually like this more. It's less obnoxious. Not a deeply sensual perfume as one would think due to it's name and all things associated with Pon Farr (if you are a Trekkie fan.) Yes, there are tons of perfume-know-it-all-snobs out there that bash it because they are the fools that feel they must pay serious coin for a nice perfume. When the truth is very simple: No, you do not. This is a lovely, delicate perfume that is very well-behaved and it layers well with other scents depending on your whimsy. And it has excellent-moderate lasting power. Just don't go bananas with it or you will kill the prettiness of it. Balance is key. Give it a try and open your mind. At this price point, you have nothing to lose.

Must For A Trekkie
oday's #SOTD is a fragrance that, as a Trekkie, I had to add to my collection: Star Trek Pon Farr. Pon Farr is a floral fruity fragrance that launched in 2009. Notes: Top - Orchid, Nectarine, White Violet Middle - Mirabelle, Vanilla, Egyptian Jasmine Base - Sandalwood, Musk, Patchouli For those that aren't Trekkies, Pon Farr refers to the Vulcan time of mating; every 7 years. It was shrouded in mystery and secrecy. Thus, we have set up the expectations for this fragrance. Rather than what one would expect, Pon Farr is more of a generic, sweet fruity floral. On opening, Pon Farr is quite screechy. This can be overcome by first spraying the fragrance on a cotton ball or pad and then applying. Otherwise it takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes to settle down. There's no real development here; what you spray is what you get. After it settles, Pon Farr is the typical drugstore cheapie. It's an ok scent that hints of a sweet and powdery fruit/white floral. I have no regrets with this purchase. I love the Star Trek style bottle. I am a Trekki but despite that I do think that the amount of perfume and the price make it great value for money. I am really happy with my purchase.
