Alcazar Cologne by Ted Lapidus, Launched in 2010, Alcazar is an oriental fragrance perfect for brightening up any man’s wardrobe during the winter and fall months. The cologne opens with top notes of nutmeg, petitgrain and citron.
Over time, these fade into distinct middle notes of orange blossom, rosemary and lavender. Finally, base notes of white cedar extract, leather and tonka bean smooth out the experience and add a touch of masculinity to the green scents to complete the scent’s effect.
Ted Lapidus launched his own brand in 1951, after completing an apprenticeship with Christian Dior, a well-known and iconic perfume, clothing and accessories designer. The company’s main product is fashion, and made a name for itself in the 1960s by creating sought-after unisex outfits that popularized blue jeans in the global fashion world. The brand’s first perfume in 1970 in conjunction with L’Oreal, and has since released a total of 32 fragrances. All products are original, authentic name brands. Like many Ted Lapidus scents for men, this one is strong and powerful. No weakling, this is a throw back to the masculine 1980s. Seems to have a strong Violet note and projects well. Maybe a little too strong for work unless you go easy on the sprays. Can be seen as very sophisticated and unusual.
