Amazing scent, no silage
The sent and the history are amazing. unfortunately the sent last for less than 5 minutes. By an hours time, there is no trace of it whatsoever. Very disappointed, because this would be my signature scent if it lasted.

Nice scent, but lasts about 15 minutes. 4711 is about the same (perhaps just a LITTLE sweeter) and less expensive.

Exactly the wonderful aroma I remember from 45 years ago.
This was my dad's favorite and I occasionally used it over 45 years ago. Haven't used it since then but was curious to see if it was really as perfect as I recall now. This was my first purchase from FragranceX. When it arrived I noted the clean packaging as well as the identical clear stoppered bottle my dad used years ago. And the fragrance is still outstanding. Clearly NOT a knockoff. Exactly what I remembered in the original. Citrusy but subtle. Not like so many of the overpowering scents on the market today. VERY happy with this purchase.

The Oldest from the Guerlain family
This is the Fragrance that started Guerlain. It is an all time classic eau de cologne style fragrance which was created back in 1853. The fragrance was initially created for queen Eugenie (Napoleon lll King at the time) who was having issues with migraine. The queen really enjoyed this and granted Guerlain to become the Royal purveyor. The scent itself is super citrusy clean refreshment. The sparkly elements of the citruses are very well put together in this bottle. There are no sweetness or tartness of the fruits. The closest thing i can resemble is a can of Sprite. But you have to keep in mind that this is an eau de cologne and it works and acts like one. There is no performance on this and longevity is around 30 min.

Classics eau de cologne, not much different from 4711
It's lovely - it's also very similar to Du Coq (also by Guerlain) and like Du Coq it's very similar to dear old 4711, which is half the price. So if you like classic colognes - citrus, herbal, refreshing, for generous splashing - it's as good as you'll get. But there's 4711 ...

Awesome, fragrant smell !
Having read the reviews. I decided to get this for my son and it is indeed so, so good. No regrets and he loves wearing it on most days. Intend to get one for my husband too in the near future. Would highly recommend this fragrance now. It has such a pleasing smell and is not over powering at all. Awakens all the senses !

Amazing cologne
I'm always looking for a new cologne that will compare to Imperial but there's nothing. It's a man cologne but smells so nice on anyone, citrus and neroli combined.

So français...
This very old cologne was chosen by the french emperor's wife in mid-XIX's century. The empress loved that perfume so much that Guerlain became the perfumer of their highness. All the french subtleness is there. I use this Cologne very often, to smell clean and good. The perfume always give me good mood.

My personal favourite despite its cons
Classic, elegant and understated, a masculine scent for the confident who don't want or need a 'loud' fragrance. My personal favourite, Imperiale has a clean & fresh subtle scent with lemon citrus dominant. It wears best on the mature gentleman. Not for boys or attention seeking buffoons. Disappointingly it is not long lasting despite it's typically Guerlein price making it poor value for daily use. These two cons each exaggerate the weakness of the other. I would use it every day, but its price exacerbated by the necessity for frequent reapplication tends to see me use it as a infrequent or special occasions scent.

Overrated!
After reading several positive reviews I was enticed to purchase this item. However, I was disappointed that the fragrance holds for a very short time. Considering I've tried seven different fragrances recently from your web site, this was the most expensive and didn't live up to the positive reviews it has received.

A True Classic
My husband has worn this fragrance for over 20 years now. I had originally bought is for him as a birthday gift. It is one of the best-smelling masculine scents I have found. Not too spicy, not to citrus, just a great long-lasting classic scent. He will not wear anything else, though I have bought him a few other scents over the years.

I didn't know it was so historic...
I discovered this over 30 years ago at a small fragrance shop in San Francisco, and I am glad to find it so easily on-line at FragranceX. You say it was created for Emperor Napoleon III? I did not know that! I guess I could congragulate myself for selecting an historic fragrance, and one that is not "common". This is a light fragrance. It does not overpower or leave a "wake" behind like so many others. What I like most about it is the intimacy of it; others detect it only when they are VERY close, so it is not really shared with just anyone. The other time it reveals itself is as the body warms and I need an extra bit of fragrance "protection", not to hide perspiration odor, but to give body heat a nice fragrance.
