Vacances Perfume by Jean Patou, The original Vacances by Jean Patou came out in 1936. However, it has gone through various iterations throughout the years. It received a relaunch in 1980 and then another one in 2015. The most recent version contains fragrance notes of galbanum, lilac, jasmine, hyacinth, musk, mimosa, styrax and rose.

Jean Patou was a fashion designer who lived from 1887 to 1936. He had quite the vibrant life, having started in his uncle’s fur business before moving into fashion. He also spent some time working as a military captain during World War I. Once the war was finished, he was able to return to his boutique where he began designing his own fragrances. He worked on dozens of fragrances, including Joy, one of his most famous creations.

The nose behind the original Vacances was Henri Almeras. He was a French perfumer who met Patou when they were both serving in the military.
