This is a very good dark scent, a bad boy smell. This is not long lasting, I got maybe 4 to 5 hrs..... that's my only knock to this

Not what I expected
A co- worker wore it to the office and I liked it enough to purchase it myself. But after of arrived I realised it was too sweet and strong for my liking. I like fresh, woody, citrus style fragrances. My favorite, which I have worn for over 39 years is Armani Port Home, their very first and original men's cologne.

Great leathery scent.
Took me a long time to find it, but this will be what I wear from now on. It has a deep leathery scent that becomes part of you, not like a cologne that you sprayed on.

Mysterious and Dark
This is a masculine scent of tobacco, booze, wood and leather. I wear this on fall evenings when I'm throwing on my old leather jacket, rock t-shirt and jeans and heading to my favorite watering hole. Not overwhelming room-clearer, sits closer to the skin after dry down.

Probably the best dark scent
This is a case of loving or hatting a scent at the first sniff. I love it! Dark, dirty, smoky, boozy, wet tobacco, black leather, burnt, rubbery, very manly... This fragrance promisses to be the Katrina hurricane of fragrances; I REALLY LOVE DARK REBEL. Performance is average. After 2 hours performance begins to drop and you get and 2 feet sillage. It does get better if applied on clothes or on top of skin with a bit of almond oil. IT only took me 3 minutes to fell in love with this EDT when I tried it for the first time. Let's see the maths for John Varvatos Dark Rebel: - Scent: 9.0 (my judgement - the scent is just GREAT) - Longevity: 6.0 (under average for the existing notes - less than 6 hours) - Sillage: 5.5 (3~4 feet at its peak with 3 sprays; projection drops after 2 hours) - Uniqueness: 9.5 (preetty unique, considering the existing fragrances that I am aware of) - Wearability: 8.0 (all year round day or night, except hot temperatures) - Versatility: 7.5 (yes to clubbing, socializing, events, restaurants, bars, dates, romancing, sex, office, picnics, weaddings, movies, birthday gift to your best friend, work out.... as long as you stay less than 2 hours in any of those situations) - Quality: 9.0 (my judgement) - Presentation: 10.0 (simple but very bautifull and effective) - Price: 8.5 (bought the 100 ml) Overall rating: 8.25/10.00 Will I buy it again?... yes - because the scent is out of this world.

Best purchase ever
I wear this perfume every day since I bought it. It's purely a winter perfume. Since the fragrance is very deep and intense it goes perfect with the winter season but for summers it would come out as a bit too heavy. The very first notes you might sense from this would be woody, tobacco, tonka beans but 5 minutes into it you can actually get black pepper, basil with a hint of cinnamon. I find it kind of leathery and with a hint of rum sometimes though its really not there. You can count on this every time you step out especially winter nights.

Masculine fragrance that some women may not like
Dark Rebel is a great masculine fragrance that is exactly what Varvatos said it was " For men who march to their own drummer and think outside the box" Not a sweet clubby fragrance, but purely masculine for real men and the women who like real men. The only downside is that it lacks longevity. It is not overpowering, but aggressively assertive. But alas it only lasts about four to five hours.

This is less synthetic version / more expensive copy of "IKON" from Zirh. So 100% identical to "Ikon"-Zirh that turns it for me to a huge disappointment from Varvatos. The same boring smoked leather theme played 1000 times. I didn't find anything unique / outstanding in this scent. Longevity and silage are not bad compare to other Varvatos air-fresheners. Why over-spend so much on this one if you already have Ikon-Zirh for 20$?!....
