Oscar Velvet Perfume by Oscar De La Renta, First introduced in 2016, Velvet by designer Oscar de la Renta is a modern, ultra-feminine interpretation of the house's original iconic 1977 fragrance, Oscar for Women.
Velvet is a rich, sophisticated fruit and floral fragrance that's perfect for special occasions.
The opening is an intoxicating berry cocktail that starts out with tangy notes of black currant, dewberry, sparkling grape and sweet lychee, then softens and deepens into a full-fruit flourish of ripe pear, plum blossom and lotus flower. The brightness of the introduction matures to a complex yet balanced floral heart that blends orange blossom, alum lily and lush, lemony magnolia with narcotic sweet jasmine and datura. Delicate florals persist during the dry down: a powdery haze of orchid and iris that overlays the a gorgeously smooth, lingering finish of tonka bean, vanilla and just a touch of patchouli.
Born in the Dominican Republic in 1932, Oscar de la Renta launched his eponymous fashion house in 1965.
