Quentin Bisch and His Best Perfumes
French perfumer Quentin Bisch of Givaudan is one of the most sought-after perfumers in the fragrance industry has gone from a rising star to super nova. Born in Strasbourg France in 1983, he’s a Millennial who was discouraged to become a perfumer, because he was more of an artist than a scientist; he persevered and has composed over 140 perfumes as of 2023. Quentin Bisch demonstrates the ability to create memorable fragrances that cross all markets and demographics for designer and luxury brands including Amouage, Azzaro, Bottega Veneta, Caroline Herrera, Chloe, Etat Libre D’Orange, Jean Paul Gaultier, L’Artisan Parfumeur, Missoni, Paco Rabanne, Parfum De Marly, Thierry Mugler, Van Cleef and Arpels ,Victor & Rolf and Zadig & Voltaire.
The very first perfume created by Quentin Bisch was in 2013 when he was a junior perfumer. The niche subversive brand’s creative director knew Quentin Bisch before he joined Givaudan. He had Quentin Bisch read a book about the End of the World (Fin du Monde in French). In his young creative mind, he composed Etat Libre D’Orange La Fin Du Monde that smelled of popcorn and composed a woody gourmand fragrance that is quirky and very wearable.
Quentin Bisch’s Very Good Girl for Carolina Herrera launched in 2021. This mouthwatering, bright fruity floral fragrance is a real crowd pleaser housed in a high heel bottle. Top notes of litchi and red currant; meld into a heart of rose, before settling into base notes of creamy vanilla and green vetiver.
Seldom is a fragrance so gorgeous that a perfumer creates three different versions; each unique but sharing the same DNA. Quentin Bisch created the cult perfume Parfums de Marly Delina, one of the most talked about feminine perfume on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok #marlyedelina devotees rave it’s the best ever perfume. Delina unfolds with taste of tart, sweet lychee and tangy rhubarb made transparent with the fresh shimmer and zest of bergamot. Delina Exclusif is deeper, richer, a decadent rose covered in vanilla frosting with hints of oud and Delina La Rosee, is a dewy rose budding at dawn after the evening rain.
There’s no doubt that Quentin Bisch understands feminine fragrances, and proof is his Zadig & Voltaire Girls Can Say Anything. Deeply floral the scent expresses itself from the first spray. While most Fougères are typically masculine, this amber Fougère features iris and peony boosted with sweet vanilla and layered over soft musk. Girls Can Say Anything speaks to women who won’t be told who they are and what they can do.
Quentin Bisch’s Chloe Nomade is another fragrance that bears Quentin Bisch’s unique style it’s a modern chypre that is unlike the brand’s softer florals. Nomade opens with a blast of citrus as sweet yellow plum and juicy peach soon meet the powdery rose heart. At the base is where there’s magic, as you enter the woods, green notes and oakmoss provide a mossy base. Unforgettable with a free spirit, it has become the most loved Chloe Perfume.
“It was exciting to meet the challenge of inventing the Angel of today; looking to recreate an olfactory shock, a punch, just like Angel delivered in 1992.”- Quentin Bisch
Bright, delicious and elegant, Thierry Mugler Angle Muse is the newest generation of Thierry Mugler Angel and is an addictive feminine fragrance that blends the hazelnut cream candy floss of the original with vetiver…not patchouli. Angel Muse was said to be the first “vetiver gourmand” for women.
