What is Amouage Perfume?
Amouage Perfumes was founded in 1983 by a senior member of the Omani royal family, a Sultan and is a well-known niche brand with a loyal and cult following throughout the world that bridges the gap between Eastern style perfume and Western sensibilities with a wide offering of florals, oud, incenses, and rose perfumes. They are rich and complex, and almost all use Omani frankincense and are composed by many of the most famous perfumers in the world. Most of the fragrances are available in two versions, one aimed to women and one to men. To date, they have released almost a hundred perfumes. Each bottle has a jeweled stopper that sits like a crown on top of their signature flacons, reinforcing their title “fit for royalty.”

Top Amouage Perfumes of 2022
On its 25th anniversary in 2007, Amouage launched two celebratory eau de parfums under the guidance of star perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. Using Jubilation XXV partners with frankincense at the top. Orange and a trio of spices in coriander, cinnamon and clove finish the opening stages of Jubilation XXV. Rose and sweet guaiac wood are precisely balanced so that each enhances the trail of incense. A resinous amber at the base is joined with myrrh, opoponax, real ambergris, and musk which take Jubilation XXV into its deep rich dry down A classy cologne for men with great longevity that stays on the skin for over 12 hrs.
Classic, elegant and green, Jubilation 25 is a vintage style chypre whose brilliant, sparkling opening recalls the great chypres of the 50s and 60s but is thoroughly modern. Opening with herbal tarragon and tart lemon perfumer Lucas Sieuzac composed a luxurious perfume for women, that hugs the skin like an evening gown. Tendrils of frankincense weave in and out but are not smoky. Full-bodied Ylang ylang merges with amber which adds a sensual dimension, helping to create the richness that marks Jubilation 25 as an elegant chic perfume with a decidedly Western appeal.
One of the most beautiful of modern-day aldehyde perfumes, Amouage Gold Woman is a shining, heart-stopping superb fragrance, a flute of champagne bubbles, glittering resins, and tendrils of incense, all swirling around rose and sandalwood. It is both metallic and warm as if it was created from liquefied gold. Amouage Gold Woman was the very first perfume created for the brand in 1983 and was composed by master perfumer Guy Robert. A real compliment getter and best worn for evening.
First created in 2009, Epic Woman is a tribute to the ancient trade routes when Eastern ships navigated the sea to bring jewels, silk and spices to the West. Epic Woman is a beautiful, intoxicating rose centric perfume laden with spice, exquisite jasmine, tea, musk, frankincense, sandalwood and oud from the East. Patchouli and Oud create a smooth finish at the base. A real compliment getter and can be worn for evening or cooler weather.
Inspired by the famous Puccini opera, Madame Butterfly, Honour Woman is a white floral fragrance inspired by the tragic predicament of Madame Butterfly whose American lover leaves her to return home. The white floral is used to signify Madame Butterfly’s love. Tuberose is used to represent danger. Jasmine represents attachment. Gardenia is secret love. Lily of the Valley is purity of heart. White carnation is innocence and faithfulness. A resin base of frankincense, amber and opoponax is used at the base. In spite of its reference to the opera and that it is from Amouage, the white floral notes take you straight to a tropical paradise where the heat and humidity mingle with the night blooming jasmine, creating a very sultry and sexy atmosphere.
Created by the great Jean-Claude Ellena, Dia Woman is a spirited, soapy-powdery floral with touches of fruit and herbs that has a timeless quality Ellena evokes the romantic charm of early spring flowers. A dewy peony in the opening and additions of powdery violet and orris give Dia a gauzy fairy tale like quality. Dia Woman is remarkably pretty, with a very French elegance. The perfect Amouage perfume for Spring and daytime.

Lyric Woman is composed around a smoky rose that takes surprising twists and turns. A shower of dried rose petals is scattered all around Lyric Woman like a carpet of dried rose petals which are offset by deep ylang-ylang and honeyed jasmine. Then as the melody plays, there is a harmony of exotic spices – ginger, cinnamon and cardamom. Notes of citrus and frankincense gently create a dry down that is like the scent of skin dipped in rosewater. A lovely perfume for daytime and office wear. Subtle yet long lasting.
Composed in 2017, Amouage Beach Hut Man would seem like the perfect escape to a tropical island. What’s in a name? There really isn’t anything particularly “beachy’ about Beach Hut Man, in fact is quite green, with a realistic mint note that’s aromatic instead of smelling like toothpaste. There is the slightly bitter scent of galbanum, the earthiness of patchouli and the scent of freshly mown grass. Your place of serenity is not in a hut on a sun-swept sandy beach but sitting peacefully near an old house in the woods where tangles of ivy climb the brick walls. Beach Hut Man is the olfactive equivalent of a weathered and grey wind-blasted cottage hidden in the dunes surrounded by tall grass and sand, where one can hide away from all the drama and stress and reconnect with nature.
This is the second perfume in the ultra-feminine Midnight Garden Collection, a new direction for Amouage. Amouage Blossom Love is love at first sight– from its candy pink flacon to its cherry blossom painted packaging and first sniff with a cherry amaretto effect that wears long and well. Vanilla adds a new dimension to the cherries, amaretto and rose. This phase is quite long lived, eventually drying into sandalwood, cashmeran wood and tonka bean base. Blossom Love is not a shy wallflower and certainly no shrinking violet. The sillage is lavish and the longevity is overnight; it blooms on the skin and continues to from dusk to dawn. Blossom Love is a heady breath of spring and one you will turn to again and again all year long.
Inspired by Russian literature and music, Amouage Love Tuberose is the third in the Amouage “Secret Garden” line. Love Tuberose continues the “fragrance of love” theme with a gourmand spin on tuberose that is both truly divine and utterly delectable. Amouage Love Tuberose wastes no time introducing the Tuberose, Jasmine, and Gardenia; the undisputed queens of night-blooming flowers. All three are enrobed in the palest blush-colored angora shawl-like Chantilly cream, fluffy and sweetened with a sprinkle of sugar.
