Serge Lutens began his career at a hairstylist in Lille, France before moving to Paris and becoming a hair and makeup artist for Vogue Magazine in the 1960s and a photographer and a filmmaker in the 1970s. In 1980, he began working with Shiseido, the Japanese cosmetics company, on marketing, particularly in branding, packaging, and cosmetics design. With Shiseido’s backing, Lutens launched his own fragrance brand in 2000, creating perfumes in collaboration with Sheldrake. Other product offerings include cosmetics and scarves. The company and the boutique are located in Paris. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.

Lady-like and feminine
Although I would recommend this scent, it did not last on me. I was very disappointed because the initial scent was floral, herbal and fresh but it was gone within 3 hours. It evoked an evening out on the town wearing full skirt and heels; holding the flowers that your date just brought you on your way to your dinner date. I will probably give it as a gift to someone because it is no good on me and it is too expensive to throw away.

A sophisticated high-end parfume
This is a very high-end perfume very different from what is mostly offered today by mass brands. I can wear it for months and re-apply it twice a day without feeling tired of it. I need to say that normally I avoid perfumes which are described as "floral". I think it is very difficult to make a realy good floral, but here is the case. This smells freshly cut flowers and they are real. According to a description, Nuit de Cellofane smells as a floral shop and it is exactly right. The smell is not artificial and it is not simple. This is a harmony of different real fresh flowers. It is very delicate but it shows its power by being extraordinary. Just smell it and you'll understand.
